The Peer Support Specialist helps individuals to regain control of their lives and their own recovery and resiliency process.
· Assist clients toward person-centered activities that allow them and their family members the opportunity to direct their own recovery and advocacy processes. · Adhere to quality assurance guidelines. · Provide all required documentation pertinent to provision of services. · Participate in all training required by the Department of Mental Health and LIFECORE Health Group to maintain current credentials. · Other duties as assigned.
· Current or former client or first-degree family member of an individual who has received treatment for and self-identifies as a client or former mental health client. · High School Diploma or GED equivalent · Demonstration of a minimum of twelve months in self-directed recovery · Completion of at least one of the Department of Mental Health’s recognized peer support training programs. · Department of Mental Health’s certification as a Peer/Family Support Specialist · Valid Driver’s License · Valid Car Insurance
