Description

The Adolescent Offenders Program Therapist is responsible for conscientious aid of consumers with behavioral, mental, emotional, or physical emotional problems by providing counseling services such as planning and administering therapeutic treatment in the form of behavior modification, anger management, impulse control, and other therapeutic service venues to assist consumers in managing disorders and other emotional/mental health problems while consulting with parents, teachers, other school personnel, and youth court personnel to determine causes of problems and effect solutions. The AOP Therapist will also arrange for medical, psychiatric, and other assessments and evaluative measures that may disclose causes of difficulties and indicate remedial outcomes as well as administer various assessment/inventories toward positive outcomes in treatment

Counseling sessions take place within the school, home or office settings

Responsibilities

Provide individual therapy, family therapy, and day treatment in the school, office, or home setting. Consult with parents, teachers, and other agencies to determine the causes of problems and effect solutions Arrange for medical, psychiatric and other assessments and evaluative measures that may disclose causes of difficulties and indicate remedial outcomes Administer various assessments/inventories towards positive outcomes in treatment Participate in all training required by the Department of Mental Health, LIFECORE Health Group and Board and Licensure renewal venues so as to maintain current licensures and credentials Adhere to quality assurance guidelines Provide all required documentation pertinent to provision of services Participate as member of a multidisciplinary team in all treatment plan review of youth. Attend local MAP teams Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work. Certification or Licensure by the Department of Mental Health or State Licensure Board Valid Class D Driver’s License Valid Car Insurance
