AOP Driver/Day Treatment Assistant
Description

The Adolescent Offender’s Program Driver/Day Treatment Assistant will help ensure that LIFECORE Health Group consumers participating in the program are provided efficient and reliable transportation services. Additionally, the AOP Driver/Assistant will serve as the cofacilitator of day treatment groups to ensure proper supervision of consumers participating in the day treatment program.

· A driver should be friendly, fair and firm. · A driver should control his temper at all times. · A driver should display a wholesome attitude. · A driver should have a neat appearance at all times. · A driver should be knowledgeable of service area or capacity to learn quickly. · A driver should be patient and able to handle face-to-face complaints and problems.

Responsibilities

Provide support and instruction to attendees as directed by AOP Therapist · Assist in the incorporation of systematic and evidenced-based interventions. · Follow schedules and routes as assigned. · Maintain timely and efficient contact with the dispatcher and/or supervisor in order to communicate any changes in daily schedule. · Operate all company vehicles in a safe manner. · Provide professional, courteous and friendly service at all times. · Complete daily/monthly ridership reports accurately · Responsible for completing a daily pre-trip and post-trip inspection. · Responsible for reporting any maintenance issues with vehicles. · Keeps vehicles fueled and cleaned on the inside. · Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

· HS diploma/GED · All assigned training must be completed including all trainings and credentialing for MTM and National Med Trans. · Must have no more than two (2) moving violations in the past 5 years and no DUI/DWI convictions in the last five (5) years · Must have the ability to resolve complaints and problems and demonstrate a sensitivity toward the needs of clients/passengers · Good moral character. · Emotionally stable. · Hearing not impaired to the extent that it would interfere with the safe operation of a transit bus. · Must have an annual physical exam. A doctor should give an opinion as to whether or not the applicant is physically qualified to perform the work of a transit bus driver. · Must be free of chemical dependencies.· A driver should be cheerful, confident, serious minded, and considerate of others. · A driver should not quarrel with passengers.

· Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more and 20 inches or less. Ability to judge distance and space to see objects where and as they really are. Ability to observe an area up and down or to the left or right while eyes are fixed on a given point. Push and pull passengers in wheelchairs up and down steps and inclines while exerting forces of 81 to 108 pounds. Ability to exert pressure in excess of 100 pounds of force. Ability to repetitively bend and twist the back. Upper body strength, muscular endurance, and cardiovascular endurance to perform very hard work. Pulling a wheelchair up or down over a curb lifting forces of 1039 pounds for manual-operated wheelchairs and 1378 pounds for motorized wheelchairs. Ability to continuously sit for five to 55 minutes. Ability to twist neck 90 degrees on both sides. Assist riders weighing 150-250 pounds. Physical activity includes, but is not limited to: balancing, climbing steps, crouching, dialing, driving, feeling, folding, fingering and grasping belt and supporting fastener devices, handling, hearing and speaking with passengers when responding to passenger requests/directions, holding kneeling, lifting, opening, reaching, (below waist, waist to shoulder, above shoulder), repetitive wrist motion, seeing, sitting, standing, bending, and stooping to place/remove seatbelts around riders, turning pages. Using computer function boards on farebox, radio, and headsign equipment; walking when pushing wheelchairs; maneuvering wheelchair lifting device on vehicle; and writing.
